Countries to which export of Georgian wine most increases

Over the period of January-November 2017, 70,2 mln bottles (0,75 l) of wine were exported from Georgia to 52 countries of the world, which by 54% exceeds the figure of the same period of last year. According to the information provided by the Georgian National Wine Agency, within the accounting period, wine worth of 154,8 mln USD was exported, which is 49% more than the rate of similar period of last year.

Increase of export is notable in the following countries:

China – 38% (6 736 081 bottles)

Russia – 76% (43 903 947 bottles)

Ukraine – 48%(7 660 334 bottles)

Poland – 12% (2 388 352 bottles)

Latvia – 29% (1 467 464 bottles)

Belarus – 59% (1 682 008 bottles)

USA – 51% (445 020 bottles)

Germany – 49% (402 318 bottles)

Israel – 172% (204 074 bottles)

Mongolia – 82% (168 162 bottles)

Japan – 8% (155 100 bottles)

France – 176% (99 112 bottles)

Azerbaijan – 67% (111 522 bottles) 

Top five exporting countries are: Russia (43 903 947), Ukraine (7 660 334), China (6 736 081), Kazakhstan (3 096 879) and Poland (2 388 352). 

Besides, 16 337 174 bottles (0,5 l) of brandy was exported to 25 countries, which is 82% more than the number exported within the same period of 2016. Total exported brandy is worth of 35,5 mln USD – increase compared to similar period of last year reaches 75%.

Within the accounting period, 251 thousand bottles (0,5 l) of chacha was exported to 22 countries. Increase of export made 170%. Incomes generated from chacha export made 767,7 thousand USD. Compared to last year, increase reached 142%.

Total incomes generated from the export of wine, brandy, chacha, wine material and brandy spirit within the accounting period makes 257,7 mln USD – increase, compared to the same period of 2016, made 47%.
