In January-February 2017, foreign goods trade turnover in Georgia made 1 683.5 mln USD, which is 16.3% more than in the previous year. Of this amount, 446.4 mln USD is the value of export (25.5% more) and 1 237.1 mln USD – of import (13.3% more). In January-February 2018, Georgia’s negative trade balance made 790.7 mln USD, which is 47.0% of foreign trade turnover.
In January-February 2018, Georgia’s foreign trade turnover with EU member-states made 446/5 mln USD, which is 10.8% more than in previous year. Of this amount, export made 132.5 mln USD (30.5% more) and import – 314.0 mln USD (4.2% more).
With only four EU member-states Georgia has positive trade balance, of which 12.6 mln USD was with Bulgaria, where within the accounting period Georgia sold goods for 34.6 mln USD, while import made 21.9 mln UDS.
Georgia exported goods of 1.1 mln USD to Estonia, while annual import made 486 300 USD. Georgia’s positive balance with Estonia made 694 thousand USD.
Goods exported to Lithuania within two months exceeded 17 mln USD, while import was over 7 mln USD, which took Georgia’s positive trade balance with Lithuania over 10 mln USD.
Positive trade balance with Malta made 1.8 USD. In January-February, export to Malta exceeded 2 mln USD, while import made more than 198 thousand USD.
