AI Institute - Global Initiative by Young Global Leaders Launched in Georgia

IamtheCODE, the pioneering African-led global movement dedicated to advancing digital education and inclusive innovation, has officially launched the first-ever AI Institute in Georgia in collaboration with Business and Technology University (BTU). This historic initiative marks a transformative milestone in AI education and talent development for Georgia, Africa, and the Global South.

The iamtheCODE AI Institute, powered by BTU, is designed to equip young people—particularly women, girls, and marginalized communities—with the critical skills and knowledge needed to thrive in an AI-driven future. As Georgia emerges as a growing hub for digital innovation, the Institute is positioned to become both a national asset and an international destination for AI excellence and talent exchange.

With over 65,000 digital courses available across the iamtheCODE platform, learners can access one of the world’s most comprehensive collections of educational resources focused on digital skills, coding, and artificial intelligence. Additionally, iamtheCODE through the world Economic Forum has secured multiple partnerships with Major companies such as Skillsoft and Coursera, giving its global community access to world-class AI courses from leading institutions.

Through this new centre, young women and girls from across the globe will have the opportunity to come to Georgia—to learn, build, and immerse themselves in its dynamic economy and rich culture. The initiative underscores a shared commitment to ethical AI development, cross-cultural collaboration, and inclusive innovation.

“We are so proud to work with BTU to open this landmark institute” said Lady Mariéme Jamme, Founder of iamtheCODE. “AI has the potential to improve the world, and through this partnership, our goal is to empower as many young women and girls as possible here in Georgia and beyond. This is not just about learning AI; it’s about unlocking global opportunity and building future-ready talent for Africa, Georgia, and the Global South”

In partnership with BTU, the iamtheCODE AI Institute will offer a range of specialized programs to cultivate both foundational and advanced knowledge in the AI ecosystem, including:

  • AI Literacy and Ethics
  • Machine Learning and Data Science
  • AI for Public Good
  • Entrepreneurship and Responsible Innovation
  • Research and Innovation
  • Data for the SDGs
Trains young people in the responsible collection, interpretation, and use of data to track, measure, and accelerate progress on the 17 UN Sustainable Development Goals—supporting SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals)SDG 12 (Responsible Consumption and Production)and SDG 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities)This program reinforces the value of data as a tool for accountability, evidence-based policymaking, and inclusive development.

“This collaboration with iamtheCODE brings global vision and local relevance together,” said **Dr. Nino Enukidze, Rector of BTU. “We are proud to co-create a future where Georgia can lead in AI innovation with integrity and purpose. Together with iamtheCODE, we are shaping a future where AI is not just about technology, but about equity, inclusion, and meaningful progress toward the Sustainable Development Goals. BTU is honored to be at the forefront of a global movement that places women, girls, and marginalized communities at the center of digital transformation.”

The launch event featured live demonstrations, student showcases, and pledges from local and international stakeholders to scale the Institute’s impact throughout Georgia, Africa, and globally.

This strategic initiative aligns with advancing the 17 UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), including:

  • SDG 4 – Quality Education
  • SDG 5 – Gender Equality
  • SDG 8 – Decent Work and Economic Growth
  • SDG 9 – Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure
  • SDG 17- Partnerships for the Goals

Through the AI Institute, iamtheCODE and BTU aim to accelerate progress toward these goals by equipping young people with the skills, tools, and opportunities needed to drive sustainable solutions. We believe this Institute can play a vital role in helping advance the SDGs faster, especially in underserved communities across Georgia, Africa, and the Global South.

It also supports iamtheCODE’s global mission to empower 1 million women and girls to code by 2030.

“As we mark the 10th anniversary of the 2030 Agenda this year at the United Nations, the opening of the iamtheCODE AI Institute stands as a renewed commitment to the SDGs and a bold step toward building an inclusive, equitable, and sustainable digital future for all” add Lady Marieme Jamme.
