Dr. Bryan O’Young Inducted into Marquis Who’s Who for Leadership in Chronic Pain Management and Holistic Medicine

Dr. Bryan O’Young, a pain medicine and physical medicine and rehabilitation physician at Temple University Health System, has been inducted into Marquis Who’s Who, the world’s leading biographical registry. This honor acknowledges his professional achievements, his philosophy on chronic pain, and his global impact as an educator and advocate for holistic health.

A Philosophy Rooted in Energy and Purpose

Dr. O’Young believes healing and purpose are deeply connected. “We are all energy,” he says. “According to the Law of Conservation of Energy, energy cannot be created or destroyed; it can only be transformed. I believe that there is a purpose behind this energy. It invites us to embark on a journey of self-awareness, discovery, and personal growth. Each person on earth has a purpose to discover, define, and embrace fully. This journey is a profound part of our existence.”

Dr. O’Young serves as a professor and vice chair of education at the Lewis Katz School of Medicine at Temple University, as well as chief of outpatient physical medicine and rehabilitation services at Temple University Health System.

Dr. O’Young is board-certified in physical medicine and rehabilitation, as well as pain medicine, and is licensed to practice in both Pennsylvania and New York. He is also a clinical professor at New York University Grossman School of Medicine, an adjunct clinical professor at Weill Cornell College of Medicine and the University of the Philippines-Manila, and a visiting professor at Peking University and Sun Yat-Sen University in China.

Assisting Patients Through Multidisciplinary Care

Dr. O’Young’s philosophy aligns with the World Health Organization’s definition of health as “a state of complete physical, mental, and social well-being, not merely the absence of disease.” He adds that true health encompasses the soul, vitality, and joy that come from living in alignment with one’s values and passions.

Dr. O’Young is the chief editor of the internationally recognized guidebook Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Secrets, now in its fourth edition and published in five languages. As chair of the International Society of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (ISPRM) UN Liaison Committee, Dr. O’Young directs global initiatives and participates in United Nations efforts to address global health and disability.

Dr. O’Young’s personal motto is, “Look for the light, then there shall be no darkness.” He believes every individual possesses a distinct purpose. “Find out what that is, live it to the best of your ability, and you will have no regrets,” he advises.
