Let’s Change the World Together is a fully volunteer-run and transparent charity dedicated to supporting children’s health by co-financing surgeries and medications. The organization’s founder, Shalva Akhrakhadze, says he was inspired to establish the foundation by his own children, Giorgi and Ana. The foundation was created on April 3 and has helped 14 children by the end of 2024. The total amount of funds raised exceeds 24,000 GEL, and 39 companies are involved in the foundation’s activities in various forms of collaboration.
Policy
The foundation’s activities are based on the principles of transparency and volunteerism. “Our policy ensures that every cent received is used for children’s healthcare needs. We do not use donations to cover operational expenses, which allows us to allocate every contribution entirely to the beneficiaries’ health,” says Shalva Akhrakhadze.
The foundation collaborates with numerous companies, and these partners ensure smooth operations completely free of charge. For example, Nexia TA manages the foundation’s accounting, while Grant Thornton Georgia conducts financial audits at no cost. This unique model enables the foundation to operate without any additional expenses.
How the Foundation Selects Beneficiaries
Let’s Change the World Together supports children in need of specific medical assistance. To ensure the reliability and accuracy of information, the foundation collaborates with hospitals, such as the M. Iashvili Children’s Central Hospital, which quickly provides verified details about beneficiaries and their needs. This significantly minimizes the risk of fraud.
The foundation’s internal procedure includes a thorough review of medical documentation. A dedicated committee makes the final decision on which cases to fund.
“For even greater transparency, we transfer funds directly to hospitals or pharmacies rather than to families. This system ensures that donations are used exclusively for their intended medical purposes,” explains Shalva Akhrakhadze.
You can support the foundation’s activities either through financial contributions or by volunteering your resources and skills. Currently, around 20 volunteers are actively involved in the organization.
