For 17 years, audit and consulting firm Moore has been building its success story in Georgia. According to SARAS data, in 2024, Moore recorded 63% growth, ranking 8th among audit firms in Georgia and taking 2nd place in the country for annual revenue growth. Forbes Georgia sat down with the firm’s partners — Misha Abaidze, Sopho Abaidze, Teona Abdushelishvili, and Paata Chubinidze — to discuss Moore’s journey and plans.
Moore Global recently won the Network of the Year award at the 2025 International Accounting Forum. What does this recognition mean for Moore, both locally and globally?
Misha: Winning the prestigious Network of the Year award at the 2025 International Accounting Forum is a landmark achievement. It highlights our network’s strength, professionalism, and commitment to innovation. The International Accounting Awards (IAA) celebrate the best and most innovative audit and accounting networks worldwide. Winners are selected annually by an independent jury based on a detailed evaluation of the previous year’s performance.
In 2024, Moore Global achieved 13% growth, marking the fourth consecutive year of double-digit expansion. Notably, 83% of member firms reported growth, and 44% achieved growth exceeding 10%.
Sopho: For us, the recognition carries dual significance. On the one hand, it validates our credibility globally. On the other hand, it demonstrates that we are part of a network that sets international benchmarks for quality and development. Locally, this allows us to offer Georgian clients access to global expertise and flexible solutions — strengthening Moore’s position here. Globally, it opens doors to new projects and cross-border collaborations, translating into greater trust, opportunities, and growth potential for both us and our clients.
According to SARAS, Moore grew by 63% in Georgia in 2024. What drove this rapid growth, and how do you plan to sustain it?
Misha: With that growth, Moore now ranks 8th among Georgian audit firms and 2nd in terms of annual revenue growth.
Our primary driver has been a quality-first approach, supported by a long-term, sustainable strategy. Growth for the sake of size was never our goal — each client and project is carefully chosen to maintain the highest standards.
Our strategy remains unchanged: quality first, client-focused solutions, and responsible development. This gives us confidence that our growth will not only continue but may also accelerate.
Teona: This performance is not just about financial strength — it proves that our services are truly needed and create real value for businesses. That motivates us to keep innovating and delivering reliable, impactful solutions.
The key foundation of Moore’s success in Georgia is access to international experience and sustainable development. The company combines global standards with local approaches, creating a model of quality in Georgia that is only possible through strong international support.
You describe your approach as a “partnership model.” What does that mean in practice?
Sopho: At Moore, partners are directly involved in every project’s planning and execution. This ensures accountability and guarantees quality. In today’s volatile environment, we believe this is the most effective approach.
For us, a partnership model means close collaboration with clients and genuine investment in their success. Our principle is simple: listen, understand, and adapt to each client’s unique needs. That’s how we build trustworthy, result-oriented relationships.
To sustain high quality in a constantly changing environment, we rely on three pillars: strict adherence to professional standards, continuous team education, and effective integration of technology. We combine Moore Global’s resources with local expertise to deliver flexible, reliable, and efficient services.
Moore represents Moore Global — a British network with a history spanning more than a century. How do you adapt international expertise to local clients’ needs?
Teona: Founded in London 110 years ago, Moore Global now operates in 116 countries, with 37,000+ professionals across 235+ offices worldwide. In Georgia, we proudly uphold that legacy. Our team delivers the professionalism, values, and standards that define Moore’s success everywhere.
The combination of global and local perspectives ensures that our Georgian clients receive not only technically sound but also practical and impactful solutions tailored to their specific needs.
Paata: Our mission is to empower clients to reach their goals in an ever-changing business environment. In Georgia, Moore actively works as an auditor for public-interest entities (PIEs) — a responsibility that underscores our reputation, reliability, and adherence to professional standards.
Sopho, you are a member of the Global Executive Board of Moore Social Ambition at Moore Global’s Georgia office. What types of social projects have been implemented so far under the Moore Social Ambition initiative, and what are the plans?
Sopho: Moore Social Ambition is a global initiative born out of our corporate culture a few years ago. I was one of its initiators, and today hundreds of ambassadors worldwide are engaged. Its mission is to make a positive impact on society and those in need. Through the efforts of our team, we implement numerous social projects, all of which are framed around the UN Sustainable Development Goals.
As part of the Moore Global Network, our mission is to help people grow — meaning our clients, our employees, and the communities in which we live and work.
The project’s slogan is: “We will always be a driving force for positive social change.”
Within the framework of Moore Social Ambition, we carry out a wide range of initiatives, including environmental and social projects, support for education, and the promotion of equality principles. As a company, we fully recognize our social responsibility, and our values are centered on the long-term development of both our employees and clients.
Moore Georgia is actively developing new services — including CFO outsourcing, transfer pricing, ESG (environmental, social, and governance standards), and internal audit. Why are these considered strategic priorities? And how does this shift address the needs of clients in the Georgian market?
Teona: We constantly take into account the needs of our clients and respond quickly to market changes; accordingly, we continuously expand our services. These are not just additional services — they’re strategic steps to align with evolving market demands.
Our CFO outsourcing service, launched in collaboration with SavvY, responds directly to the shortage of qualified financial management expertise in Georgia. SMEs often struggle to afford advanced analytics, budgeting, and risk management. Outsourced CFO services give them access to top-level expertise at minimal cost, enhancing efficiency and financial governance.
Transfer pricing is another strategic focus — a global standard for transparency in cross-border operations. Moore combines local and international expertise to deliver high-quality, compliant solutions.
Sopho: ESG has become a priority for investors, regulators, and partners. Georgian companies seeking integration into global supply chains and capital markets must adopt ESG reporting. Our services enable them to responsibly manage environmental impact, enhance transparency, and increase long-term value.
Paata: There is also a growing demand for internal audit services — particularly in light of increasing corporate transparency requirements and tightening regulations. Moore’s internal audit services are focused on more than just meeting compliance standards; they aim to deliver tangible value through effective risk management, process optimization, and actionable insights for management. The development of these service areas responds directly to market transformation, strengthens client trust, and reaffirms Moore as a reliable, stable, and innovative partner for our clients.
Moore is accredited by the ACCA and emphasizes employee development. How do you retain talent, and how would you describe your corporate culture?
Paata: Moore Georgia holds the ACCA Gold Employer status and is part of a select group of firms supporting ACCA students and members. For us, this is more than recognition — it’s a commitment to invest in our people continuously.
We believe human capital development is the foundation of long-term success. That is why professional education, mentorship, and career growth are integral parts of our culture.
Sopho, as we’ve already mentioned, you are actively involved in areas such as education, environmental protection, and community support. What role does Moore play in shaping Georgia’s business environment ethically?
Sopho: We have always known we were building something special at Moore. For us, corporate responsibility is not just an obligation — it is a value that underpins sustainable development.
We see business as more than providing professional services. Companies have responsibilities to society, the environment, and future generations. That belief drives our Social Ambition initiatives across education, sustainability, environmental protection, and community support. From an environmental perspective, we take part in eco-initiatives and, through offering ESG services, also help our clients analyze and improve the environmental and social aspects of their operations.
We also engage in community support projects — whether it’s empowering local communities, supporting foundations, or participating in solidarity campaigns. For the Moore team, compassion and active involvement in the society where we live and work are core values.
We are convinced that ethical, sustainable development is not just the right path — it is essential for business success. With this values-driven approach, Moore strives to contribute to the creation of a progressive and transparent business ecosystem in Georgia.
Your leadership team in Georgia has recently expanded. Could you tell us more about the structure of the management team and their vision regarding the company’s development?
Misha: Over the years, our leadership team has expanded strategically. At Moore, partnership means leadership, responsibility, and constant engagement with both clients and colleagues.
Our vision of leadership is based on a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous professional development. Over the past decade, Moore’s growth in Georgia has clearly demonstrated that active partner involvement in strategic planning, the development of new services, and responding to market demands yields significant results.
Today, Sopho and I continue to lead development with a strong focus on service quality. Mamuka Danelia heads our valuation practice, bringing years of expertise in asset and business valuation. Teona Abdushelishvili, who joined in 2019, leads outsourcing, covering accounting and reporting. And in 2023, Paata Chubinidze became an audit partner, bringing over 15 years of international experience.
This collective strength enables us to remain innovative, resilient, and market-driven.
Looking ahead three to five years, what is Moore’s vision in Georgia and globally?
Misha: Our ambition is to establish Moore Georgia as one of the country’s top ten firms, while representing the global network with distinction. Over the next few years, we will focus on three strategic priorities: technology, service diversification, and regional expansion.
We already serve over 500 companies across various industries, providing a comprehensive range of services — including audit, valuation, accounting, tax, and advisory. Looking forward, we will accelerate automation in audit and reporting, integrate data analytics, and adopt AI-based tools for deeper insights and higher efficiency.
In addition, we are actively working on expanding and improving our services — particularly in emerging areas such as ESG-related consulting, CFO outsourcing, internal audit, and transfer pricing. We believe that demand for these services in Georgia is growing, and our goal is to be a top choice for companies focused on responsible growth.
We are confident that Moore’s presence in the global network, combined with our accumulated experience in Georgia, will allow us to strengthen our presence on a regional scale. The coming years for Moore will be a period of progress and innovation, deepening international collaboration, and raising standards within Georgia’s business landscape. Naturally, this will be done deliberately, strategically, and with a focus on our clients’ best interests.
Ultimately, our vision goes beyond business. By advancing professional standards, ethics, and education, we aim to contribute meaningfully to Georgia’s economic and social development.
