“We’re essentially a builder broker,” explains Justin Engelke, co-founder of Turnkey Building Group. “Just as finance brokers changed how people secure loans, we’re transforming home construction by serving as intermediaries between clients and builders.”

Justin Engelke and Jordan Wilson founded Turnkey Building Group, which is reshaping the Australian home construction industry with its advanced system. The company simplifies building a new home by assisting clients with everything from selecting a builder to servicing the client throughout the entire construction process.

How Builder Brokers Are Transforming the Home Construction Experience

Many Australians find the traditional way of building a home overwhelming. Choosing the right builder, managing contracts, and navigating the construction process can leave homeowners daunted. Turnkey Building Group recognised this challenge and created a unique solution model.

Turnkey Building Group connects clients with around 20 different builders, ranging from Victoria’s second-largest builder to smaller boutique custom builders. This model provides clients with a wide range of options and skillfulness. Through these industry connections, Turnkey Building Group makes sure that clients find the best match for their needs and budget.

The One-Stop Shop That’s Simplifying Home Construction

Turnkey Building Group offers more than just connections to builders. The company provides a full range of services that guide clients through every step of the home-building process. “We handle everything,” says Jordan Wilson, co-founder. “Our clients never need to speak directly to the builder – we advocate on their behalf, translating industry jargon into clear language and resolving issues before they even reach the client.”

This all-encompassing outlook appeals to first-time homebuyers and seasoned investors, who value the streamlined process and the reassurance of having experienced professionals.

Engelke shares practical advice when discussing the most cost-effective way to build a custom home: “Simple, compact layouts are often more affordable, using fewer materials and less labour. Incorporating standard sizes for doors, windows, and fixtures can also reduce costs, as custom elements are more expensive.”

This insight reflects just a fraction of Turnkey Building Group’s proficiency, helping clients make informed decisions that balance their aspirations with their budgets.

From Display Home Dynamos to Industry Disruptors

The story of Turnkey Building Group reflects youthful ambition and industry insight. Engelke and Wilson met while working for Dennis Family Homes, one of Victoria’s top 10 builders, and quickly established themselves as a formidable sales team.

“We saw a more improved way to serve customers,” Wilson recalls. “The traditional model often prioritised the builder’s interests. We recognised an opportunity to change that dynamic and create a service that truly places the customer at the centre of the process.”

Engelke and Wilson established Turnkey Building Group about four years ago. Since then, the company has expanded to work with various builders, offering clients diverse options and competence.

Cutting Costs, Boosting Sales

The builder broker model is not just a win for homebuyers but is also proving to be a notable advantage for builders. Turnkey Building Group handles sales and marketing, allowing builders to cut costs and pass these savings onto their clients.

“For builders, it’s like having an entire sales and marketing team working for free,” Engelke explains. “We only charge a commission when we sell a house, so builders can lower their fixed costs and focus on what they do best – building quality homes.”

Beyond Building: The Full-Service Property Solution

Turnkey Building Group has expanded its services, becoming a one-stop property shop. The company now holds a real estate agent licence to sell completed homes for clients. This expansion allows it to assist clients who need to sell their current home before building a new one, coordinating the entire process smoothly.

The company has also launched Turnkey Investment Group and Turnkey Real Estate management. They now guide clients through the entire process—from building an investment property to finding tenants and managing the property until it’s ready for sale.

The Aussie Dream Team That’s Going National

Turnkey Building Group is focusing on national expansion. The company has recently opened a second office in regional Victoria and plans to establish a presence in New South Wales and Queensland.

“Australia is a large country with many land opportunities,” Engelke says. “We strive to bring our unique perspective on home construction to as many Australians as possible.”

Turnkey Building Group continues to grow, demonstrating that its builder broker model is more than just a trend—it is transforming the home construction industry. Engelke and Wilson focus on their customers and use their industry knowledge to build more than just homes – they are creating a new way forward for Australian homeowners and investors.

Turnkey Building Group provides a fresh perspective and strong support for those looking to start their home construction journey or explore property investment opportunities. With the company expanding its presence across Australia, it is ready to redefine what it means to build a home in the modern era.
