Baku-Tbilisi-Kars Railway Line Launched
Prime Minister of Georgia Giorgi Kvirikashvili, President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliev, President of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Bakitjan Sagintaev and Prime Minister of Uzbekistan Abdula Aripov symbolically nailed the rails, reversed points and opened a memorial.
The first test train railed the Georgian section of Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway line on 29th January 2015. Implementation of the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway line project started in 2007. This railroad is being constructed on the base of trilateral state agreement concluded between Azerbaijan, Georgia and Turkey.
