SEU and MIT Signed a Contract
Georgian National University SEU and the world’s highest-rated university, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, MIT, signed an important contract for the development of the country’s education system and Start-up ecosystem.

SEU, along with 4 other universities in the world, is a co-founder of the Raise the Bar Entrepreneurship Educators Network, with the initiative of the Martin Trust Center for MIT Entrepreneurship of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). Raise the Bar Entrepreneurship Educators Network is dedicated to strengthening entrepreneurship education and improving the ecosystem on a global scale.

SEU’s involvement in the prestigious network is another proof of the university’s high standards and, at the same time, it strengthens its international position in the field of entrepreneurship, innovation and technological development.

Within the framework of the partnership, cooperation with the world’s leading universities and exchange of experience becomes a contributing factor for the development of the start-up ecosystem of Georgia, as well as of the region.

What does the Entrepreneurial Education Dissemination Network mean – Raise the Bar Entrepreneurship Educators Network, unites around the idea of raising the level of entrepreneurship education on a worldwide scale.

The goal of the universities included in the Network of Disseminators of Entrepreneurial Education is to educate generations as highly qualified entrepreneurs and to develop the skills to deal with the most critical challenges. To develop a unified standard of success, the Entrepreneurship Education Dissemination Network will use MIT’s experience and methodology of startup creation.

In accordance with the initiative, the Raise the Bar Entrepreneurship Educators Network will contribute to improving the global entrepreneurship education ecosystem and sharing knowledge and experience through open dialogue and frequent collaboration.

As part of the collaboration, SEU will send 5 lecturers to the MIT campus every year in Massachusetts, USA, for a training program, where they will undergo: MIT’s “Entrepreneurship Framework”, get to know and study in depth the correct methodology of tactics of “24 Steps of Entrepreneurship” and “15 Startups” held by MIT. Also, lecturers will delve into the MIT Entrepreneurship Center’s startup accelerators, programs, any new content from MIT professors, and more.

Trained lecturers will share the acquired knowledge and experience with SEU students. In addition, it is important that with the collaboration of SEU and the Martin Trust Center for MIT Entrepreneurship, an international start-up accelerator will be created on the basis of SEU, which will later be integrated into the undergraduate and graduate programs of the university.

Opportunities for students:

As part of the partnership, three fully funded SEU students will travel to Massachusetts for three weeks to work with MIT students on the MIT campus on the StartMIT entrepreneurship practice-based program. The project will have an annual character.

“Joining the network of universities promoting entrepreneurial education is an important step not only for SEU, but for the entire Georgian higher education system. Cooperation at the international level will increase the reputation of the educational system of the country and will contribute to the development of entrepreneurship and innovation in the country”, says Gia Kavtelishvili, Rector of the National University of Georgia SEU.

It is also worth noting the fact that, in addition to students and academic staff, SEU administration staff will also travel to the MIT campus for the annual conference, who will work with other members of the Raise the Bar Entrepreneurship Educators Network to develop the network.

For information, SEU, as one of the founders of the Raise the Bar Entrepreneurship Educators Network, will have exclusive access to MIT’s Orbit platform. Orbit’s ultra-innovative digital platform makes the idea development process easier for start-uppers and maximizes risk identification. The platform uses a GenAI-assistant that helps improve the entrepreneurial educational experience for students and lecturers.
