Elena Scofield has been included in Marquis Who’s Who for her extensive contributions to the insurance industry. As in all Marquis Who’s Who biographical volumes, editors select individuals to profile based on current reference value. The selection process considers factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility and prominence in a field.
Ms. Scofield, president and founder of Scofield Insurance Consulting LLC, has dedicated more than 25 years to the insurance industry. Since founding her company in 2015, she has focused on providing comprehensive Medicare insurance solutions with a distinct personal perspective. Based in Rocky Hill, Connecticut, her firm serves clients across 15 states, offering specialized knowledge in senior health care plans including Medicare Advantage and Medicare supplement plans, and ancillary plans.
A Client-First Approach to Medicare Insurance
“You have to love what you do. You must be passionate about it and be completely 100% driven,” says Ms. Scofield. “I get a sense of satisfaction when one of my clients smiles and says, ‘Oh my God, Elena. I just can’t believe you have helped me save so much money. I had no idea I could get all these benefits.'”
Each client consultation spans approximately one hour, during which Ms. Scofield meticulously reviews health care providers, hospitals, medications and upcoming medical procedures to tailor insurance plans that align with both health care needs and financial constraints.
Ms. Scofield’s commitment to personalized service has earned widespread recognition. Eldercare Review named her company among the Top 10 Medicare Supplement Companies in 2023, and Women’s World magazine and MSN featured her articles on preventive health care.
Building Trust Through Relationships
“The insurance field is a tough business. It is predominantly male-dominated,” notes Ms. Scofield. “Just be yourself and be authentic. Have integrity with the work that you do. Try to give the best of yourself to every client or prospect you meet.”
Ms. Scofield’s extensive career includes roles at leading health care organizations such as Kaiser Foundation Health Plan Inc., Aetna Insurance Company, and WellCare Health plans. She stays active in her community, often sponsoring senior events and teaching seniors across Connecticut the latest information impacting Medicare beneficiaries. She is an active member of the National Association of Benefits and Insurance Professionals (NABIP). She recently attended the NABIP Capital Conference in Washington, DC on February 24th and 25th where over 700 insurance professionals converged in DC to advocate for the needs of the Medicare population. “The healthcare needs of the senior population are extremely important to me,” says Ms. Scofield.
“I attribute my success to the strong trust my clients have in me,” Ms. Scofield reflects. My business was built on referrals. When I receive referrals from clients, and family members of existing clients, I take the time to send personalized handwritten thank-you notes. It’s about building and maintaining those long-term relationships with every client. That’s what it’s all about.”
