Mr. William L. Clark, president of The Clark Firm PA, continues to distinguish himself in the field of personal injury and product liability law. Dedication to clients and an unrelenting work ethic, forged through military and law enforcement service, define Mr. Clark’s career. At his Florida-based practice, he applies more than 15 years of legal experience, serving individuals affected by dangerous products, wrongful death and serious injuries.
Mr. Clark’s Legal Journey Began with Service and Sacrifice
Mr. Clark began his professional path in the United States Navy, serving as a fire control technician aboard the USS Birmingham SSN-695. Stationed out of Pearl Harbor, he completed multiple overseas deployments and was trained in weapons systems and submarine defense. After more than six years of military service, Mr. Clark joined the Valdosta Police Department in Georgia, eventually rising to the rank of detective while completing his undergraduate studies.
Mr. Clark earned a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice from Valdosta State University, followed by a Doctor of Jurisprudence from West Virginia University College of Law. He also completed coursework at Stetson University College of Law. His legal career began with a personal injury firm, where he handled litigation against major tobacco companies. This early exposure to product liability drove him to focus on this area in the years ahead.
Mr. Clark secured a $10 million verdict for a widower after his wife succumbed to chronic obstructive pulmonary disease caused by long-term tobacco use. “That case changed that family’s future trajectory,” Mr. Clark said. “It’s the kind of outcome that reminds me why I do this work.”
Leading with Integrity, Client Loyalty and Community Commitment
Mr. Clark’s current practice centers on defective products, motor vehicle accidents, wrongful death and emerging injury trends such as vaping-related lung damage. “We’re now seeing people in their mid-twenties with severe lung damage after just a few years of vaping,” Mr. Clark said. “It’s a wake-up call — and it’s happening much faster than what we saw with traditional cigarettes.”
Clients and colleagues recognize Mr. Clark’s practical, hands-on perspective on leadership. “I don’t micromanage,” he said. “I trust my team. I give them independence, and in return, they go above and beyond for our clients.” This outlook has fostered a high-retention workplace culture. According to Mr. Clark, employees at his firm have always chosen to stay voluntarily.
Mr. Clark continues to grow The Clark Firm PA while maintaining a strong commitment to civic engagement. He provides pro bono legal services to veterans and supports the Legal Aid Society of Manatee County and the Wounded Warrior Project. Outside of work, he is a devoted father of seven who enjoys traveling, fishing, camping, boating and exploring the outdoors with his family.
Reflecting on his career, Mr. Clark attributes his success to discipline, compassion and consistency. “What made me successful is dedication and trust,” he said. “When I take on a case, I don’t quit it.”
