Regardless canceling the concert last September 16-17 due to the health conditions of the band guitarist Davey Johnstone, Elton John left the audience in awe last weekend. Sir Elton John “Wonderful Crazy Night” concert was held on 30th and 1st of July.
The concert was organized by Solo and Eastern promotions. As a huge football fan, the legendary singer had several requirements on his arrival to Georgia, in particular, he asked for the TVs to be in every hotel room, dressing rooms and backstage. Huge screens were even installed outside the stadium for the audience members to enjoy the World Cup prior to entering the concert.
Alongside the legendary singer and the band, the Black Sea Arena hosted YAMAHA grand piano which was one of the main attributes of the show. According to several sources, the piano has been four years in the making and is worth over $1 million.
The lack of conditioning and heat in the audience didn’t stop people from dancing to all of the songs and even switching from sitting places to standing at the Golden ring dancing their feet off to Crocodile rock and other hits.
Unlike Ennio Morricone concert which left some audience members unsatisfied with its setlist, Elton John pleased the audience with all his performances. The star performed his classics and all-time favorite hits. He kicked off the evening with his old hits “I guess That’s Why They Call it the Blues” “Daniel” as well as few songs such as “A Good Heart” from his new album which he was promoting on his “Crazy Wonderful Night” Tour. Towards the middle of the evening, Elton played the crowd all-time favorites as the members of the audience all sang along the words to “Sorry Seems to be the hardest word” Rocket man Your Song Crocodile rock and of course Candle in the Wind.
the pop and rock legend actively engaged with the audience and fans even got the chance to have their items signed by the star toward the end of the show.
Multiple Grammy award winner released his latest album “Wonderful Crazy Night” in 2016. In January, at an emotional New York press conference, Sir Elton John made an exclusive announcement that in 2018 autumn, he will begin his retirement tour called “Elton Farewell Tour”. My priorities have changed. I have young children.” Despite sad news, his retirement tour does not mean that his musical career is approaching its end: “I’m not going to be touring anymore,” “That doesn’t mean I won’t still be creative,” he added.
