The upskilling of women entrepreneurs in artificial intelligence, e-commerce, and financial literacy is a new initiative that will select a pilot cohort in Georgia in 2026. In subsequent phases, the program will scale to include multiple countries and a larger number of beneficiaries.
Within the framework of the program, participants will develop their own e-commerce platforms, integrate Mastercard payment systems, and learn to apply artificial intelligence (AI) tools for vibe coding—an intuitive, experimental, and creative approach to programming. They will refine their business models and, using materials from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), acquire skills essential to developing their own startups. Additionally, participants will enhance their cyber hygiene competencies and gain the ability to create modern, innovative platforms aligned with today’s technological environments.
The initiative was launched after the signing of a memorandum of cooperation between Business and Technology University and Mastercard Georgia, and it is scheduled to begin in the summer. The project will provide practical training and feature leading mentors from the technology sector.
Women’s empowerment through modern technologies, as well as electronic and financial services, is one of the key priorities of Mastercard’s global strategy. This program is a direct continuation of that vision and will significantly contribute to women’s economic empowerment and their active participation in digital transformation.
With the support of the Mastercard Center for Inclusive Growth, the program creates a sustainable platform for women to fully realize their potential and play a meaningful role in the economy of the future.
The first discussion about the project took place at the World Economic Forum Annual Meeting in Davos, where Nino Enukidze, the Rector of Business and Technology University and a YGL named by WEF, participated in a Mastercard session on women’s entrepreneurial empowerment. The session was led by Merit E. Janow, Chair of Mastercard’s Board of Directors, who discussed the Mastercard Center for Inclusive Growth’s vision and objectives. The project initiated in Georgia aligns with the Center’s vision and principles, aiming to promote inclusive economic development and enhance financial accessibility globally.
