In 2017, a total number of beds in hotels and hotel-type facilities in Georgia was 66.9. A total number of rooms was 30.7, 9.9% of which are suites, 13.1% were standard single rooms, 57.2% – double rooms and 19.8% – rooms with three and more beds.
According to the information provided by GeoStat, during the year 2017, hotels and hotel-type facilities in Georgia served 3381.5 thousand visitors, which was 33.1% more than in the previous year. 68.7% of the visitors of hotels in Georgia were from foreign countries and 30.2% – from Georgia. Foreign visitors to Georgian hotels were mainly those coming from Russia (16.9%).
Among the visitors from the EU member states, the majority was from Poland (20%) and Germany (17.9%), while the biggest number visitors coming from other countries were from Turkey (27.5%) and Iran (20.1).
In 2017, compared to the previous year, the number of visitors from Russia increased by 73.6%, from Turkey – 60.8%, Iran – 2.4 times, Ukraine – 37%, Azerbaijan – 44.8%, Israel – 26.4%, Armenia – 61.3%, Poland – 1.1%, Saudi Arabia – 2.2 times.
