In the first quarter of the year, 19,4 million bottles of Georgian wine (0,75l) were exported to 37 countries, which exceeds the same indicator of 2018. The cost of the exported wine is 47 million US dollars, which is 16% more than the same data of 2018.
Export was grown at the following markets: Poland – 39% (1032400 bottles), China 23% (1372839) and US (165% (182025); also, in Europe: Lithuania – 21% (134376), Estonia – 18% (142112), France – 41% (34170), Sweden – 313% (9000), Bulgaria – 161% (4500), traditional markets and Asia: Russia – 15% (13279083), Belarus – 36% (317280), Mongolia – 7% (66012) and others.
The top 5 exporter countries are Russia (13279083), Ukraine (1419222), China (1372839), Poland (1032400) and Kazakhstan (560460).
From the list of Georgian wine appellations, the most amount of exported wine was ‘Kindzmarauli’ – 3677356 bottles, followed by ‘Mukuzani’ – 1209406, ‘Tsinandali’ – 890458, ‘Akhasheni’ – 422220, ‘Khvanchkara’ – 226072, and so on.
At the beginning of the year, a different amount of wine export was carried out by 148 companies.
Moreover, in 14 countries of the world, there are 6 million bottles (0,5 l) of brandy exported, which is 74% more than the 2018’s indicator. The income of the brandy export reached 12,4 million US dollars (growth 71%). Also, there are 118 bottles (0,5l) of Chacha exported to 15 countries of the world. The growth of the export here reached 170%. The income of the Chacha export counts 323 thousand US dollars (growth 153%).
