The Vice-Governor of the National Bank of Georgia, Murtaz Kikoria has resigned from his position as a member of the Board of the National Bank of Georgia. Kikoria has already submitted a notice to the legislative body addressing the chairman of the parliament Irakli Kobakhidze. The notice states that Mr. Kikoria will leave his post as of 30th November.
According to the law, as it pertains to the National Bank of Georgia, Murtaz Kikoria is prohibited from working within the finance sector for the subsequent 6 months. It is not clear where Kikoria will go next.
Murtaz Kikoria has been a member of the Board of the National Bank of Georgia since December 2016. In 2008-2009 Mr. Kikoria was the Deputy CEO of Bank of Georgia, and in 2011-2012 he became the Deputy General Director of the same bank. In 2012-2014 he was the Chief Executive Officer of JSC Aldagi – Georgia Healthcare Group, before becoming a Deputy Chief Financial Officer at Bank of Georgia Holdings plc in 2014. From 2015 till 2016 he held the position of Chief Executive Officer of JSC Bank of Georgia.
