Harry Potter fans in the U.K. can now purchase Butterbeer—one of the most iconic commodities of J.K. Rowling’s Wizarding World—in bottles, launched today at select Wizarding World locations.
The world’s first official bottled Butterbeer launched exclusively September 10th, at Warner Bros. Studio Tour London –The Making of Harry Potter and the Platform 9 3⁄4 Shops at London King’s Cross, Heathrow and Gatwick Airports (the Gatwick store is currently closed due to Covid-19).
MinaLima, the designers behind the graphic props of Harry Potter and Fantastic Beasts, are responsible for the label design on the souvenir glass bottles, designed so that fans are able to display the empty bottles after drinking. More collectible labels are expected to be released in future.
Described as a ‘new take’ on the butterscotch flavoured soft drink that has been available on draught at Warner Bros. Studio Tour and at the Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Universal Studios theme parks since 2010, the top-secret recipe for bottled Butterbeer is brewed in the U.K. and is vegan, vegetarian and gluten-free. If the bottles are made available worldwide, Warner Bros. will have answered requests via a petition from The Protego Foundation (signed to date by over 7,000 people) to provide vegan Butterbeer at Wizarding World of Harry Potter locations in Orlando, Hollywood, and Osaka.
Bottled Butterbeer is available via the official Warner Bros. Studio Tourand Platform Nine and Three Quarters websites (and in store) at £4.95 for an individual 275ml bottle or £12.95 for 4 X 200ml pack.
