The number of tourists visited Georgia in July increased by 1%

Georgia hosted 1,099,474 tourists in July 2019, showing an increase of 5.8% year-on-year (y/y).

According to the Georgian National Tourism Administration (GNTA), the number of tourist arrivals totaled 570,482, which is 1% growth, compared to July 2018.

The countries with the most significant increase were:

  • Azerbaijan (+ 13.1%)

  • Russia (-6.4%)

  • Turkey (+ 9.6%)

  • Armenia (+ 3.2%)

A positive trend was maintained by visitors from the European Union:

  • Germany – (+ 33.7%)

  • France – (+ 29.6%)

  • Lithuania – (+ 20%)

  • Latvia – (+ 17.4%)

  • Poland – (+ 15.7%)

Particular growth was recorded from following countries:

  • Kuwait – (+ 58.1%)

  • China – (+ 55.6%)

  • Uzbekistan – (+ 50.9%)

  • Saudi Arabia – (+ 42.1%)

  • Korea – (+ 38.9%)

  • Kazakhstan – (+ 28.5%)
