WhatsApp messenger will stop working on millions of smartphones around the world in 2020, since it is completing support for functioning on old iPhone and phones with outdated Android operating system (OS), as well as gadgets with Windows Mobile OS, Daily Mail reports.
WhatsApp will stop working on phones with Windows Mobile after December 31, 2019, on Android 2.3.7 and iPhone iOS 8 – from February.
A Facebook-based company said it is focusing on “mobile platforms that the vast majority of people use.”
It was previously reported that after February 1, 2020 it will be impossible to create new accounts for users with Android 2.3.7 and older, as well as iOS 7 and older. In addition, some functions of the application may stop working with clients with all of the above operating systems at any time, since WhatsApp is no longer developing updates for these operating systems.
