1700 foreign suppliers - participating in State procurement tenders in Georgia

In 2018, the total value of State procurement value assumed 4,087,214,400 GEL. From this amount, the purchases for 3,308,643,197 GEL went through electronic tender and the value of contracted agreements with simplified procurement amounted to 778,571,203 GEL.

It turns out that 81% of the total cost comes from simplified procurement agreements. The number of tenders announced in 2018 was 32,597, which is lower than the same figure of the previous year (33,095) by 2%.

During 2018, over 3,300 new companies registered in the system and the total number of registered suppliers has reached 38,248.

The number of registered foreign suppliers reached 1,700, 61 contracts, with the total value of more than 122 million GEL were signed, which amounted to 4% of the total volume purchased in Georgia in 2018.

• Italy – 76

• Great Britain – 52

• Armenia – 45

The highest number of tenders announced by Tbilisi State Medical University, Tbilisi City Hall and the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

With regard to the total estimated costs, the Roads Department of the Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia is leading with total estimated cost of 387 million GEL, followed by Tbilisi City Hall and the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia.

The highest economy from trade was reached by the Roads Department of the Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia (more than 50 million GEL) followed by Tbilisi City Hall and Georgian Gas Transportation Company.
