The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development will allocate 214 mln USD for financing construction of Nenskra Hydro Power Plant.
The power plant will supply to Georgia 1,2 GWh of energy annually, which will fully be consumed by local market.
The 280 MW Nenskra Hydro Power Plant is being constructed by Partnership Fund, in partnership with a Korean company K-Water in Svaneti, at Enguri River tributary.
The plant will start generating energy as from 2019, and the project will be finalized in 2021. Construction works are being conducted by a tender-winner major Italian company Salini Impregilo together with Georgian contractor construction consortium GCC. Total value of the project is 1 bln US dollars.
