In the first two quarters, the volume of operations conducted by Georgians abroad using payment cards has increased by 25%.
Over the first 6 months of the year, the volume of operations conducted abroad using payment cards emitted by resident card issuers amounted to 598 193 328 GEL, which, compared to the similar period of the last year, is a 25% higher value: over the first two quarters of 2016, Georgians spent abroad 447,7 mln GEL using their payment cards.
According to the data, provided by the National Bank of Georgia, only in July, the amount spent abroad by Georgian citizens using bank cards made 112,7 mln GEL; within the same period, total of 597 933 banking operations were conducted abroad.
In the first quarter of the year, banking operations conducted by Georgians abroad using payment cards were worth of 318,8 mln GEL.
