According to the National Wine Agency of Georgia, in the period between January and July 2018, 45,5 mln bottles (0,75 l) of wine were exported to 50 countries of the world, which is 19% more than the rate of the same period in 2017. The value of the exported wine is 107,8 mln USD, the increase made 28%, compared to the same period last year.
The export has increased in the strategic markets of Georgia: Japan – 124% (166 032 bottles), United Kingdom – 76% (50 062), Poland – 32% (1 886 618), USA – 4% (244 374), as well as in Europe: Romania – 390% (84 654), Czech Republic – 68% (30 456), Germany – 32% (308 734), Lithuania – 21% (265 062), Netherlands – 17% (38 799), Latvia – 16% (966 726), Estonia – 7% (329 304) and in traditional markets: Kirgizstan – 81% (140 370), Kazakhstan – 41% (1 996 860), Ukraine – 38% (5 040 319), Russia – 20% (28 564 609), Belarus – 4% (846 822), etc.
Top 5 export countries are: Russia (28 564 609), Ukraine (5 040 319), China (3 514 066), Kazakhstan (1 996 860) and Poland (1 886 618).
Besides, 9,9 mln bottles (0,5 l) of brandy were exported to 20 countries of the world, which is 20% more than the rate of 7 months of 2017. The income generated from brandy export exceeded 20 mln USD, the increase made 7%.
Within the accounting period, 219,5 thousand bottles (0,5 l) of chacha were exported to 24 countries of the world, the increase made 114%. In total, chacha worth of 638,5 thousand USD was exported, which is 126% more than the rate of the same period last year.
Total income generated in the first half of the year from the export of wine, brandy, chacha, brandy spirit and un-bottled brandy made 173,3 mln USD, which is 21% more than the similar rate of last year.
