10 063 foreign students are studying in Georgia. In the recent years, the number of foreign students has been increasing in the country. For comparison, in academic year 2016-2017, their number equaled to 8012, in 2015-2016, 6643 foreign students studied in Georgia.
Most foreign students studying in Georgia– 3834 – come from India. 2691 students studying in Georgia are from Azerbaijan. Georgian higher education institutions provide higher education for 263 students from Egypt and 821 from Iraq. In addition, there are also 182 students from Israel, 161 – from Iran, 224 – from Turkey and 115 students – from Bangladesh.
