The European Bank of Reconstruction and Development will finance the Kheledula Hydro Power Plant with 30 million USD.
The total investment cost of the project is 87 million USD.
EBRD states that the project will help to reduce carbon intensity in Georgia and will partially meet the growing demand for electricity in the country and will strengthen the energy trade with Turkey.
The Kheledula Hydro Power Plant construction is planned to take place in Racha-Lechkhumi-Kvemo Svaneti region, in Lentekhi municipality on the Kheledula reiver. The strength of the Power Plant is 51 MW.
