Emmy Awards 2020: The Winners List

Emmy Awards 2020: The Winners List

The 72nd Annual Primetime Emmy Awards, television’s highest honors, was a bit different this year.

The audience didn’t include the regular mix of stars. Instead the ambitious broadcast deployed more than 100 cameras around the world to film the nominees in their own homes.

The one constant—despite the pandemic? It was all live. That meant the winners will be just as surprised, delighted and disappointed as the audience. Canadian sitcom Schitt’s Creek took home the most awards of the night, sweeping the comedy category with a record seven awards. On the drama side, HBO’s Succession won big, earning four trophies including Best Drama Series. Watchmen garnered another four awards for HBO, including Best Limited Series.
