In the first 11 months of this year Georgia received over 3 billion USD in revenues from tourism, exceeding last year’s 12 months and setting a record breaking indicator. Last year the country received 2.7 billion USD from tourism in total. This year, the country received more from tourism in its first 10 months. According to data by the National Bank of Georgia, during this year the highest revenues were recorded in the month of August and came to 442.9 million USD.
Compared to the previous year, the biggest annual increase was recorded in April, coming to 33.4% growth.
Revenues received from tourism, along with the number of international visitors, has been growing over the years. In 2017 the revenues amounted to 2.7 billion USD, whereas in 2016 the revenues came to 2.1 billion USD and in 2015 the revenues from tourism came to 1.93 billion USD.
