For the first time in the recent years, a Georgian airline company transported more passengers than foreign airlines.
According to the information provided by the LEPL Civil Aviation Agency of the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development, during the first 6 months of this year, airports of Georgia in total served 2 103 149 passengers. Compared to the first 6 months of last year, passenger flow increased by 30.79% and compared to the same period of 2016 – by 94.23%.
As of the first 6 months of 2018, for the first time in the recent years, a Georgian airline company transported more passengers than foreign airlines.
According to the number/percentage of passengers transported by regular flights, the top 10 companies are:
- Georgian Airways – 247 485 passengers, 12%;
- Turkish Airlines – 246 021 passengers, 12%;
- Wizz Air – 223 364 passengers, 11%;
- Fly Dubai – 110 757 passengers, 5%
- Ukraine International Airlines – 109 529 passengers, 5%
- Ural Airlines – 100 060 passengers, 5%
- Aeroflot – 90 998 passengers, 4%
- Siberia – 78787 passengers, 4%
- Pobeda Airlines – 69362 passengers, 3%
- Pegasus – 65 493 passengers, 3%
