The World Bank forecasts 4,2% economic growth in Georgia for this year and 4,7% – for the next year.
According to the updated forecasts of the Bank, this year, the world economy will grow by 3,1%. 2,2% economic growth is expected in the United States of America, 2,5% – in the Eurozone and 2,9% – in Europe and Central Asia regions. Among Georgia’s neighboring countries, the highest economic growth is expected in Georgia.
The economic growth forecast for the countries of the region in 2018 is as follows:
Armenia – 3,8%
Azerbaijan – 0,9%
Belarus – 2,1%
Kirgizstan – 4,2%
Poland – 4%
Russia – 1,7%
Turkey – 3,5%
Turkmenistan – 6,3%
Ukraine – 3,5%
Compared to the previous forecast, the World Bank raised Georgia’s economic growth rate by 0,2%.
The economic growth forecast for Turkey declined by 0,4% and for Russia – by 0,3%.
