According to the information provided by the National Wine Agency, over the period January-March 2018, 17,7 mln bottles (0,75 l) of wine were exported from Georgia to 43 countries of the world, which is 24% more than the rate of same period of 2017. Within the accounting period, wine worth of up to 40,47 mln USD was exported. The increase rate was 26% higher than in the same period last year.
Export growth is notable for European counries, as well as USA, Asia and traditional markets: Belarus 429% (233220), Japan – 230% (53160), United Kingdom – 98% (37740), France – 71% (24248), Kazakhstan – 85% (877494), Czech Republic – 68%(18888), Latvia – 61% (412626), Netherlands – 46% (21993), Germany – 38% (136222), Ukraine – 36%(1771928), Poland – 32% (740922), Estonia – 28% (120246), Russia – 28% (11511830), Israel – 24% (52722), USA – 3% (68620), etc.
Top five export countries are: Russia (11511830), Ukraine (1771928), China (1117138), Kazakhstan (877494) and Poland (740922).
Within the accounting period, 134 companies exported different volumes of wines.
Besides, in January-March 3,5 mln bottles (0,5 l) of brandy and 43,8 thousand bottles (0,5l) of Chacha was exported.
Total incomes generated from export of wine, brandy, chacha, wine material and brandy spirit within the accounting period made 64,8 mln USD. Increase, compared to the same period of last year, made 10%.
